If it was easy, everyone would be doing it right? You can google the art of acting and scroll through the endless link to acting classes and PDF’s on how to evoke emotion in the audience. A crucial factor Burton takes into consideration when practicing the trade, is, being true to herself. “Stay true to yourself and don’t let other people try and convince you otherwise.”
Burton’s energy is swift and energetic. She has a knack for creating laughter in everyone she meets. Her luminous smile is contagious. Making people laugh isn’t the only talent Burton exercises, she is also a talented writer, frugal producer, and to top it off, an avid softball player. Being part of a team shows leadership and outstanding sportsmanship, there’s no denying that Burton is a versatile individual.
Burton adds, “ I wanted to become an actor because I wanted to be able to create stories that I would want to see. Stories that were meaningful, honest, smart, and of course, witty.” Burton explains how she loves experiencing peoples’ reactions. “When they finish watching something that you did and tell you [that] there was a connection [with the character], is the best feeling; being able to resonate with people.”
The list of actors who give jaw-dropping performance is endless, but what Burtons admires about a performance is the fierceness. “I just admire actors who are fearless and not afraid to try new things in the moment. When working with actors and they challenge you- push you to be better, are worth remembering.”
Breaking out can be challenging, when asked what advice she would give to struggling actors, Burton didn’t hold back. “Perseverance and patience are two things [actors] should have. It’s very ying & yang; it definitely works. If you work hard and go after something you want, then let everything play out- you’ll get the opportunities that you wanted.”
